Ryan + Kayla had a beautiful ceremony at the Mackinaw Valley Vineyard on June 12th. The skies were threatening with dark clouds all morning. We even had some funnel clouds drop down several miles south of the vineyard accompanied by an amazing lighting show. Kayla stayed positive and happy throughout our pre-ceremony pictures and told me, “I don’t care what the weather is like as long as my groom doesn’t get sucked up into the sky!” We ducked in and out of shelter before the ceremony to avoid raindrops. When the ceremony time was about to begin, the sky decided to pour and guests were escorted by umbrellas to a beautiful building on the grounds made especially for adverse weather conditions like this. Yes…. there were a few tears shed but after the initial disappointment of not being able to hold the ceremony outdoors, the tears were whisked away and replaced by excitement and anticipation of the start of their ceremony. The wonderful thing about the building at the Mackinaw Vineyards was that 2 sides completely opened up to the gorgeous scenery of luscious green vines and a beautiful lake. The guests stayed dry, the temperature cooled off and the view was still amazing!! God blessed us after the ceremony. The skies dried up and we headed into the vineyard for some absolutely gorgeous shots of Ryan and Kayla. Congratulations Ryan + Kayla! Your wedding day was memorable, your wedding day was amazing…. We had so much fun spending time with you and your friends and families.
A special thanks to Jill from Jill Marie Photography in Iowa for your talented 2nd shooter skills!
