A common question that many couples ask me as their wedding photographer is, “do you work with a shot list?” and my answer is always no. I do use a checklist for the group family formals so that I am efficient and organized but anything else is always inspired as I go throughout the wedding day. Each wedding party is completely different and not all “poses or groupings” work the same. A few things that inspire me for group shots are light, color, style, height, number of people in a group, architecture, personalities and of course, alcohol intake, LOL! I always sneak in those traditional group formals but after that, it’s usually more informal and fun. I love capturing movement and expressions. Walking, jumping, and skipping is not out of the question. I love capturing details from the shoes to the flowers. I love closeups. They are my favorite. You will often hear me saying the words, “snuggle in and get closer!” A few suggestions from the bride and groom are always welcome but the best way for me to capture your wedding day is by allowing me to have the freedom to let the creative juices flow!
